honestly, yeah, he would nail it, but... 1. not as well as he nailed Billy Butcher 2. He is 6'1. They should cast a SHORT wolverine. Short, hairy, mean looking MF. Jackman somehow pulled it off and was a great Wolverine BUT... we need the original. Not a pretty boy, handsome guy with stubble to pass as "neglected". We need someone who can show us the Frank Miller Wolverine, a 160 cm (5'3) deadly, mean looking, buffed, little Canuck, who's not pretty, not nice, not "a model who had a bad day". Just a deadly ferocious MF, who's the best at what he does. And what he does best, isn't very nice.
